EXAMPLE PROJECTS
San Diego Regional Task Force on Homelessness and Partners in Care Oahu - Grant funding secured for Youth Homeless Demonstration Programs from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for these clients in the amounts of $7 million and $3.8 million respectively. Subsequently assisted both San Diego and Oahu with the development of Coordinated Community Plans, which engaged youth and cross-sector stakeholders in establishing goals and program priorities. San Diego Unified School District – More than $12 million in funding secured from the U.S. Department of Defense Educational Authority (DoDEA) to support the development of eight programs focused on improving outcomes for children from military families across more than 30 schools. Gregory House Programs - Received over $2 million in U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS (HOPWA) funding to implement a new innovative Housing as an Intervention to Fight AIDS project. The Executive Director stated, “Thank you for being willing to work with a smaller organization to position ourselves to better serve those in need in our community.” |

Strategic Planning and Coalition Building

EXAMPLE PROJECTS
San Diego Refugee Communities Coalition – Provide ongoing support to this highly successful coalition of twelve ethnic community-based organizations. Impacts include developing five direct services initiatives, identifying strategic partners, and securing more than $10 million in new funding from sources such as California Mental Health Services Authority, Federal Health Resources and Services Administration and County of San Diego. Community Health Improvement Partners – Lead strategic planning and community engagement activities with more than 98 member organizations of the Suicide Prevention Council to inform the San Diego County Suicide Prevention Action Plan updates for 2018 and 2023 as well as subsequent implementation plans. |

San Diego Youth Services – Providing assessment and evaluation services for multiple government funded programs focusing on youth wellness and resiliency, homelessness prevention and housing stability. Findings from community-led suicide prevention and teen pregnancy prevention research have led to program improvements as well as organizational and system change. La Mesa-Spring Valley School District – Conducting district and site level needs and assets assessments to determine the design of a California Community Schools Partnership Program. Mount Waddington Regional Health District – Completed a comprehensive housing and homelessness needs assessment and report in partnership with multiple communities within North Vancouver Island to inform better understanding of local housing issues, related challenges, and potential solutions. |

University of California San Diego Center for Community Health and California Department of Social Services Office of Equity/Office of Immigrant Youth – Providing project management and technical assistance in the development and delivery of a statewide Community-Led Transformation model to meet the needs of Afghan youth and families via four regional coalitions. University of San Diego Nonprofit Institute – Assisted in the development and delivery of training and technical assistance to hundreds of participants of this award-winning educational nonprofit academy. Residential Youth Services and Empowerment (RYSE) – supported the development of program and fiscal policies compliant with federal regulations to aid the successful launch of multiple new and expanded programs. |
